Ithaca Family Dentist Accepts Most Insurance
Dental Insurance, or more accurately called dental benefits, is intended to cover a portion of your dental treatment charges with your Ithaca family dentist. The amount of coverage depends on the individual contract your employer or union has with the insurance carrier.
Rarely, are dental procedures covered at 100% of the actual cost, even when the brochures state that they are. This coverage should be considered reimbursement or partial coverage for the fees incurred, and this reimbursement/benefit is dependent on many factors including deductibles and maximum allowable benefits in a given year that your employer and the dental coverage company have contracted to provide.
Our Ithaca family dentist office does not participate in any third party benefit plans or programs and thus does not accept assignment of benefits since the contract for insurance is a contract between the insurer and the insured (you).
We will, of course, electronically file your claims for you as a courtesy, so that the dental benefits company will process your applicable benefit as quickly as possible. Please bring your insurance card and insurance information with you on your first visit. This will help us expedite the transmission of information from our office to your dental benefits company.
Under New York State law, benefits must be paid to the insured within thirty days after submission of a claim to the insurance company. Assignment of those benefits to non-participating providers may not be paid for well over ninety days.
